Search Properties

If different values are given for a property's minimum value and maximum value, then this is treated as a min.-max. search. If in both fields the same value is given, then this is treated as a single value search.

Filter settings

Combo box Country
By selecting <all> the materials can be searched for across all countries. If a particular country is selected, then the search is restricted to that country.

Search values

Column	Description
Active	Only Search values marked with active will be searched.
Property	On direct input of the first letter, selection of the different properties starting with that letter is offered, and the cursor keys can be used to move to the marking in the selection list. By pressing the downwards pointing arrow a window will open containing all properties that can be searched. Selection from this is by using the mouse, the cursor keys or by keyboard input of the first letter of a property. By pressing the first letter more than once, you can move between properties with the same first letter. By using TAB or by using the mouse you have access to the fields on the right hand side where percentage values can be entered.
Value min./max.	Input minimum and maximum property values that the desired material should fulfill. The input is made in the displayed unit.
Unit	No input can be made in this column. It shows the unit of the selected property.
Dimension min./max.	In these columns the dimensional range for which the property sought should apply, can be restricted through the input of a minimum and maximum value.
Temp. min./max.	In these columns the temperature range for which the property sought should apply, can be restricted through the input of a minimum and maximum value.
Condition	In this column, the search can be restricted to a specific condition.
	Opens another edit row.
	This button deletes the actual marked row of the Search value table.

Clicking the Search-Button initiates the search for materials that match the property values entered.

With the button Delete list the complete Search values table is deleted.

Apply Fuzzy search

With the help of the Apply Fuzzy Search checkbox, it is possible to restrict the search result by specifying a maximum permissible percentage tolerance with regard to the value deviation.
(By this default materials are found which are not only mathematically correct, but come close to the "logical" Search value.)
When starting this function a dialogue will open into which you can enter the maximum permitted tolerance for the search.

Search results

In this list the materials matching the search criteria are listed in alphabetical order.

Show material properties found

By clicking the -symbol the found material property values are displayed.

Explanation of the symbols:

• = Type of material (at the moment only steel (nickel alloys)
• = Shows found property values
• = Add to favourites (View via: My Account -> My lists -> Favorites

To open a material data sheet please click on the respective designation in the results list.

Search values marked as "Active" can be saved as a file on your hard drive. Simply click the button Save Properties.

Property files saved on your hard drive can be loaded into the search value table. Simply click the Load properties-button. In the following dialog you will need to select the file by clicking the Choose file-button and then confirm loading the values by clicking Load properties.

Your filter settings can be saved as templates and (if desired) shared with colleagues (other members of the subscription).

Save template

To save the filter settings as a template click on the Filter settings link. A drop-down menu opens. Click Save template. The following dialog will be shown.

You must provide a name for your template.

The checkbox Shared determines if other users of your subscription can use this template.

The checkbox Set as preset determines if this template is your default setting (when opening the search screen).

Click the Save-button to save the template.

Administrate templates

To administrate your templates, click on the Administrate templates link in the Filter settings menu. The templates are split into three sections.

• My templates: This list contains all templates you saved yourself.
• Shared templates: This list contains all shared templates of your colleagues (other members of the subscription) that you added to your filter templates.
• Available shared templates: This list contains all available shared templates of your colleagues (other members of the subscription). These can be added to your personal shared templates.

Explanation of symbol icons:

	Indicates the default filter which will be applied when opening the search screen
	Indicates templates created and shared by other members of the subscription
	You can click this button to edit your own template
	Deletes the template
	Adds a shared template to your list of filter templates

Load a saved template

To load a template, click on the Filter settings link. The drop-down menu contains two template sections:

• My templates: Below the “My templates” category all templates you saved yourself are listed. Click on the name of the template to load it.
• Shared templates: Below the “Shared templates” category all templates your colleagues shared, and you added to your filter settings are listed (see Administrate templates for more details).

As soon as a filter has been set the -symbol will be displayed. By clicking on the filter symbol all filters and other settings will be reset to their default values.
