Entry Field
Here you can either enter a material number, a symbol or a trade name.
Pressing the button Search will initiate the search.
Note
Check that the filter settings are correct, as depending on the Filter settings not all designations will be displayed.
In principle for a standard search (for example for an unknown designation) it is not necessary to choose Filter settings beforehand.
The limitation of the results through additional criteria may take place at any time after the initial search through Refine search.
Expert tip
In the drop down list in front of the Entry Field you can determine whether the requested designation
- starts with the input
- contains the input
- ends with the input
- or must exactly match to the input
In addition to the filter settings, you can limit your search in the Entry Field by using wildcard characters. These trailing wildcard characters are allowed:
Wildcard | Explanation |
---|
% | A string of zero or more characters |
_ | A single character |
[ ] | A single character within the specified range (for example [a-f]) or a single character out of a defined set (e.g. [abcdef]) |
[^] | A single character not contained in a specified range (such as [^a-f]) or a single character not contained in a defined set (for example [^abcdef]) |
Examples
Wildcard | Explanation |
---|
Starts with 1 | The list contains all designations which start with 1 |
Starts with 1.[4-5] | The list contains all designations which start with 1.4 or 1.5 |
Starts with 1.[^4-5] | The list contains all designations which start with 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, 1.9 |
Contains CrNi | The list contains all designations which contain CrNi |
Ends with crni6(D) | The list contains all designations which end with crni6(D) |
