Material data sheet

The material data sheet contains the comprehensive data (general information, chemical composition, mechanical properties, physical properties, information on heat treatment, suppliers, comparison of materials) of a material.

General

On this tab page you will find the following information:

  • The steel group to which the material is assigned.
  • The standards of a material with the following information:
    • Standard institute
    • Document number
    • Standard title
    • Predecessor document, successor document and international conformity.
  • Range of application
  • Suitable welding filler materials

Tip

Hover your mouse over a document number to see the document title, international conformity, predecessor and successor documents to this standard.

Composition

The compositions of a material are clearly listed on this page.

Conflict minerals

The traffic light icons show you immediately if the material contains any conflict minerals.

A green traffic light signals that the material contains no conflict minerals.

A red traffic light signals that the material contains conflict minerals. Additionally, the corresponding elements are highlighted in yellow.

The description how to display and hide the highlighting of conflict minerals you can find in our FAQs.

Open formula calculator

Click on the Calculator-button to transfer the composition of a material to our formula calculator which helps you to calculate values such as: chrome equivalent, nickel equivalent, various carbon equivalents (CEV / CEIIW, CET, PCM / CEPcm) and the PREN-Index.

Add composition to comparison of compositions

Our composition comparision allows you to compare composition values in a tabular form. Simply click the Add composition to comparison-button to add a composition to the composition comparison.

Mechanical properties

The mechanical properties are clearly listed on this tab. The values are grouped by standard, shape, condition and property.

Please click on the -button to show properties for a standard and on the -button to suppress them.

Individual conditions and properties can also be shown by clicking the -button or -button to suppress them again. This feature is extremely helpful to minimize the number of pages in the printout. Suppressed values are indicated by cursive spelling.

Property filter

Filter on properties such as:
Yield stress (Re) 0,1% yield stress (Rp0,1) 0,2% yield stress (Rp0,2) 0,5% yield stress (Rt0,5) 1% yield stress (Rp1,0) Tensile strength (Rm) Compressive strength Elongation after fracture [A5,65, A50, A80] Reduction of area (Z) Hardness [HB, HBW, HRB, HRC, HV] Impact value (ISO-V/Charpy-V, KV, KV2, KV8, ISO-U/Charpy-U, KU, DVM) [J] Creep limit 1.000 h, 10.000 h, 100.000 h, 200.000 h (Rp 1,0) Creep rupture strength 100 h, 1.000 h, 10.000 h, 30.000 h, 50.000 h, 100.000 h, 200.000 h, 250.000 h High temperature stability Hot tensile strength Torsional strength Working resistance Jominy test Folding test Bending test Application Impact transition temperature (27 J) Fracture appearance transition temperature (FATT50) Ratio of yield stress to tensile strength (Re/Rm) Increase of yield strength through heat influence (BH2) Hardening exponent (n)

Filters allow you to easily show only properties you are interested in. Simply click on the -button of the Property filter-frame.

Select the properties you are interested in and click the Activate filter-button.

The filtered list shows you quickly which standards have corresponding properties.

You can reset the filter by clicking the Remove filter-button.

Add property data to the comparison view

Select the relevant standard from the list of standards you would like to add to the comparison by clicking the Add material-button. The property values of the material are transferred to the comparison view, where you are able to compare multiple materials clearly in tabular format.

Physical properties

The physical properties are clearly listed on this tab.

Filters allow you to easily show only properties you are interested in. Simply click on the -button of the Property filter-frame.

Select the properties you are interested in and click the Activate filter-button.

The filtered list shows you quickly which standards have corresponding properties.

You can reset the filter by clicking the Remove filter-button.

Add property data to the comparison view

Select the relevant standard from the list of standards you would like to add to the comparison by clicking the Add material-button. The property values of the material are transferred to the comparison view, where you are able to compare multiple materials clearly in tabular format.

Heat treatment

The heat treatment properties are clearly listed on this tab.

Suppliers

On this tab page you can see which companies supply the selected material and which shape of products the suppliers generally produce or market for this material group. The result does not necessarily apply to the displayed material.

Shape of product filter

The shape of product filter allows you to quickly see which supplier supplies the material for certain product shapes. Simply click on the -button of the desired product shape. The list of suppliers will automatically be filtered and the filter-button of the filtered product shape will be colored orange.

Click again on the -button to remove the filter.

Supplier details

Click on the name of a supplier to see the following details:

  • Trade names
  • Address of the supplier and their branches
  • E-Mail & web addresses of the supplier and their branches

Material comparison

Shows a detailed tabular overview:

  • Country
  • Symbol
  • Standard
  • Standard title
  • Status
  • and material number (if available)

of all internationally comparable materials for the selected material. By clicking on the designation (symbol) of the reference material, the respective material data sheet opens directly.
